Sony is planning to launch an Android powered MP3 player in the US, something that would compete with the iPod. The device has been available in Japan for some time now, and out there it’s named Sony NW-Z1000 Walkman. You’ll get Android 2.3 Gingerbread with it, and NVIDIA Tegra2 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. The touchscreen is WVGA and it’s 4.3 inches big.
This device is an all-around Android phone, except for the phone part. It comes with all the gizmos you would expect, including Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, Compass, HDMI, FM Radio. And you can choose between 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
This device has already been launched in Japan. Yet, the specs over here are from the official device launched in Japan. But, the specs may vary when the device is launched in the US and well no one knows when it will be launched in the US. The dates of the official release are yet to be confirmed with the officials at sony.
