[Guide] How To Close All Running Apps With Just A Swipe

Many of us waste time in closing running apps everyday. Double-Clicking Home Button, Pressing Icons and then Closing Them takes a lot of time if you have a lot of apps running.

So, I present a solution to all those people who waste their time in closing these apps or people who have a broken home button.

The name of the Tweak is SwipeAway and is available in the ModMyi repository(http//:apt.modmyi.com/). BTW ModMyi Repo is added in your Cydia by default.

As easily understood by the name of tweak, SwipeAway is a new app for jailbroken iOS devices that allows you to close all applications running in the background with a simple swipe gesture.

SwipeAway closes all applications running in the background on your iPhone in just couple of seconds. How to do it? Simply select a specific activation gesture between those made available in Settings: Swipe up or down, to close all applications.

SwipeAway also closes the apps backgrounded by BackGrounder.

So,give it a try and keep swinging.

[Guide] How To Get iPad Style Multitasking on An iPhone or iPod Touch

One of the most appreciated features of the Apple iPad is its pure multitasking experience. Fitted with superior chips and processors, the iPad is turning into the ultimate device.
The iPad family welcomed a new member, the iPad 4. Fitted with the latest A6X chip resulting in faster loading and better graphics.
I Cannot Promise you these things but what I can give you is the iPad-like multitasking experience on your Jailbroken iDevice.
Renowned Hacker chpwn has released this “cool” Cydia tweak called Zephyr, that modifies the way you switch between applications and enable the multitasking bar. With the Zephyr Cydia tweak you can bring up the multitasking bar by simply swiping up from the bottom of your screen to the top of the screen. Additionally, as mentioned previously, the Zephyr Cydia tweak allows you to switch between applications by simply sliding right to left or left to right on your iOS devices screen.

Chpwn will be adding new gestures to the Zephyr Cydia tweak in the near future and this Cydia tweak can be configured from the Settings.app. If you are interested in downloading the Zephyr Cydia tweak to your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad you can download it from the BigBoss repo for a price of $2.99.

All of us are pretty much satisfied with the gaming experience on our iDevices.Games like Temple Run, Angry Birds, Subway Surfer and others have made having iDevices enjoyable.Still, the Gaming on iPods and iPads is still not comparable to our good old PCs.

Quake 3 is one of the most popular first person shooters in the world. It kind of revolutionized FPS games. And now it has made its way to jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch via Cydia. Obviously, this game can’t be played as well on iDevices as on a PC, but never the less, it’s available, and that counts for something.

To get Quake 3 –

1. Go To Cydia.(You Must Be Jailbroken)
2. Just Type Quake in the search box.
3. Download Quake 3 arena.. Size is about 45 MB
The game was ported on all iDevices.

The Game is still undergoing Development but it is still playable.

[Tutorial] How To Jailbreak A4 Devices On iOS 6.

The iPhone dev team have updated Redsn0w, adding full support for final public release of iOS 6 on select devices with official version of Cydia, along with tons of new features which are detailed after the jump.

Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 for both Windows and Mac not only adds support for tethered jailbreak of iOS 6 on A4 based devices, but also for re-restoring and downgrading of select devices from iOS 6 to an older firmware, or in case of re-restoring, from iOS 5.x to iOS 5.x.

Supported devices:

First and foremost, it is important to note this is a tethered jailbreak and is only meant for devices boasting an A4 Processor (or below), namely: the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the 4th-gen iPod Touch. Devices with A5 (iPhone 4S, iPad 2), A5X (iPad 3) and A6 (iPhone 5) processors are not supported at this point. Hacktivation + baseband preservation support has also been added for iPhone 4 and 3GS.

This latest version of Redsn0w does not require the user to go through the trouble of downloading and pointing the app to the iOS 6 IPSW for the jailbreak (the older version of Redsn0w, as mentioned in our previous jailbreak iOS 6 guide, required manual IPSW selection). Instead, the latest Redsn0w recognizes the firmware already installed on your device, downloads the required files and proceeds with the jailbreak. It’s that simple. Cydia, as mentioned above, is now also included as part of this Redsn0w’s release.

Jailbreaking is done in the same way as it is done with iOS 5.

Note for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS Ultrasn0w unlockers: You will first need to preserve your older baseband to be eligible for unlock. Click on “Extras” option and then select “Custom IPSW” option. Select the required iOS 6 IPSW file for your device, and let Redsn0w make the custom firmware for you. Once done, enter Pwned DFU mode by selecting “Pwned DFU” from Redsn0w’s Extras option, and then restore to this custom firmware.

How to boot your device tethered on iOS 6:

Since this is a tethered iOS 6 jailbreak, you will need to boot your device in a tethered mode every time the device is turned off and back on. Booting in tethered mode is easy, and can be achieved using Redsn0w: click on the “Extras” from the main screen and then simply click on “Just Boot” option. Follow the on-screen instructions. Once done, you will be rebooted back into tethered-jailbreak mode.

What’s new in Redsn0w 0.9.15b2?

New re-restore features have also been introduced in this version of Redsn0w. It now allows third-gen iPad and iPhone 4S users to RE-restore to any version of iOS 5.x even if Apple is currently not signing the software, provided that your SHSH blobs are saved for iOS 5.x, and the device is currently running iOS 5.x (not iOS 6) that too updated via iTunes, not OTA. iPad 2 users will also be able to downgrade if they have blobs for both 4.x and 5.x saved – even from iOS 6. The A4 based iPhone 4, 3GS and 4th-gen iPod Touch users can of course always downgrade to an older firmware for untethered jailbreak provided that they have SHSH blobs saved for the firmware they want to downgrade on.

If you want to install Cydia on iOS6,refer to this article.

[Guide] How To Speed Up A Jailbroken iPhone/iPod or iPad

Tired of waiting for Apple to release the next iPhone to experience faster speeds? Luckily, there’s an app for that. Well, at least there is if you are using a jailbroken device.

Found under the BigBoss repo (You need not add it) is :

Speed Intensifier : It is a 2-part tweak that can speed up your iPhone’s performance by shortening or completely removing iOS animations. These transitional animations typically happen when you open a folder or window, and can really slow you down as you bounce between apps…

This tweak is similar to the FakeClockUp package , but there are some differences. This extension actually has 2 separate installs. One for your Settings.app and the other is a Winterboard add-on.

The tweak actually cancels all the animations that come preloaded on your iDevice. for e.g. The Jiggling Icons when you press and hold them, etc.

Both files can be found in the insanelyi.com repo. For folks who don’t have the source installed already, just navigate to your Manage tab in Cydia, select Sources, and add “http://repo.insanelyi.com.”

Once the new repository is installed, do a search for Speed Intensifier. You should see the app as well as the Speed Intensifier Addon. I recommend installing both of these, as the add-on compliments the main application quite well.

The add-on’s description states that it breaks the limitations that Apple imposes on the device to save your battery. It will make your iPhone’s processors operate as if it is plugged into the wall charging.

Speed Intensifier is adjustable from your Settings app, where you can change the speed of the tweak, as well as disable it. The add-on should show up in Winterboard as 3 options: SI Underclock, Si Speedup, and Si overclock!

[Tutorial] How To Install Siri on iPhone 3GS/4 & iPod Touch 4 running iOS 5

On December 23, 2011, Hacker chpwn posted,

“Spire is my (along with Ryan Petrich) new tool for installing Siri on previously unsupported, but jailbroken, devices. Spire is a small download, but while installing it will download Siri itself (directly from Apple). Spire is available in Cydia right now — go get it! This will use about 100 MB of data, so please connect to Wi-Fi before installing.”

However, Spire is not a complete solution. Apple still requires authorization to use Siri, so information from an iPhone 4S is still required. To insert this information, Spire allows you to enter your own proxy server address. I’ve put up a list of my ideas on how you might get access to a proxy; hopefully you can figure something out.

Spire uses a new method to obtain the files necessary for Siri, so it doesn’t have the copyright issues encountered by previous attempts. Similarly, rather than directing all traffic through a specific proxy server (and the associated privacy issues), Spire allows you to specify your own proxy server.”

This was considered to be very easy… but it wasn’t.

All of you must have headed down to google and search”What to write in Spire Proxy Address?”

chpwn’s blog says –

  • Own an iPhone 4S too: Maybe you already own an iPhone 4S, and just want Siri on another device of yours. This is simple; you can just use the above proxy yourself.
  • Find a friend: Maybe your friend has an iPhone 4S and will let you use their authentication tokens (maybe in exchange for some cool SiriProxy plugins). Then, you can share the authentication. Or, maybe you gave your relative your old iPhone when you got your iPhone 4S: now you can share your token and give them Siri.
  • Pay up: It’s very likely that soon we will see for-pay services online to rent you some space on a Siri proxy, attached to one of their iPhone 4S devices. I haven’t seen anything like this yet, but I’ll keep my eye out, and I would encourage anyone who is interested to set something like this up.
  • And now for something completely different: As I suggested earlier, you might be able to replace Siri entirely. A simple method might be to use Google Chrome’s speech “API” hooked up to some code to decode the Siri requests and parse Google’s result. Or, someone could hook it up to some logic backends like many of the clones available on Android: the possibilities are endless.

The facts are:

  1. Owning an iPhone 4S is a dumb suggestion considering that many of us forget our iPods when we get our hands on an iPhone.
  2. Find A Friend: What the hell is an authentication token?
  3. Nobody wants to pay.

A better way to install Siri on your iPod 4 or iPhone 4 is to:

  1. Head over to cydia and add the repo: repo.siriport.ru
  2. Download it.(95-100 MB). For ipad download ipad version.
  3. Open settings and head over to siriport.ru.
  4. There will be an option install certificate.
  5. Safari will open and then install certificate.
  6. Reboot Device and then go to settings and general and siri.
  7. Switch it on.

Congratulations you’ve installed Siri. (It will take a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 8 hours to work).

If it still doesnt work, Open ifile and delete com.apple.assistant.plist from var/mobile/library/preferences.After deleting, Siri should work immediately.

Stay tuned for more such posts.
