[Tutorial] How To Install Siri on iPhone 3GS/4 & iPod Touch 4 running iOS 5

On December 23, 2011, Hacker chpwn posted,

“Spire is my (along with Ryan Petrich) new tool for installing Siri on previously unsupported, but jailbroken, devices. Spire is a small download, but while installing it will download Siri itself (directly from Apple). Spire is available in Cydia right now — go get it! This will use about 100 MB of data, so please connect to Wi-Fi before installing.”

However, Spire is not a complete solution. Apple still requires authorization to use Siri, so information from an iPhone 4S is still required. To insert this information, Spire allows you to enter your own proxy server address. I’ve put up a list of my ideas on how you might get access to a proxy; hopefully you can figure something out.

Spire uses a new method to obtain the files necessary for Siri, so it doesn’t have the copyright issues encountered by previous attempts. Similarly, rather than directing all traffic through a specific proxy server (and the associated privacy issues), Spire allows you to specify your own proxy server.”

This was considered to be very easy… but it wasn’t.

All of you must have headed down to google and search”What to write in Spire Proxy Address?”

chpwn’s blog says –

  • Own an iPhone 4S too: Maybe you already own an iPhone 4S, and just want Siri on another device of yours. This is simple; you can just use the above proxy yourself.
  • Find a friend: Maybe your friend has an iPhone 4S and will let you use their authentication tokens (maybe in exchange for some cool SiriProxy plugins). Then, you can share the authentication. Or, maybe you gave your relative your old iPhone when you got your iPhone 4S: now you can share your token and give them Siri.
  • Pay up: It’s very likely that soon we will see for-pay services online to rent you some space on a Siri proxy, attached to one of their iPhone 4S devices. I haven’t seen anything like this yet, but I’ll keep my eye out, and I would encourage anyone who is interested to set something like this up.
  • And now for something completely different: As I suggested earlier, you might be able to replace Siri entirely. A simple method might be to use Google Chrome’s speech “API” hooked up to some code to decode the Siri requests and parse Google’s result. Or, someone could hook it up to some logic backends like many of the clones available on Android: the possibilities are endless.

The facts are:

  1. Owning an iPhone 4S is a dumb suggestion considering that many of us forget our iPods when we get our hands on an iPhone.
  2. Find A Friend: What the hell is an authentication token?
  3. Nobody wants to pay.

A better way to install Siri on your iPod 4 or iPhone 4 is to:

  1. Head over to cydia and add the repo: repo.siriport.ru
  2. Download it.(95-100 MB). For ipad download ipad version.
  3. Open settings and head over to siriport.ru.
  4. There will be an option install certificate.
  5. Safari will open and then install certificate.
  6. Reboot Device and then go to settings and general and siri.
  7. Switch it on.

Congratulations you’ve installed Siri. (It will take a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 8 hours to work).

If it still doesnt work, Open ifile and delete com.apple.assistant.plist from var/mobile/library/preferences.After deleting, Siri should work immediately.

Stay tuned for more such posts.

[Tutorial] How to Install Siri on an iPhone,iPod or iPad for free using (100% working)

When Apple launched the iPhone 4S in October of 2011, one of the most talked about and probably its headline feature was the inclusion of the Siri intelligent assistant software which attempted to make life easier by being able to accomplish tasks given to it through a simple voice command. When invoked by the user, Siri is ready and able to take spoken orders which can range from setting meetings up in the calendar, checking the location of friends and family or even pulling up a weather forecast for most locations in the world.Siri can do unimaginable things and it does it bloddy fricken well!

So,When Apple did release Siri, the whole world wanted it.But,sadly only the ‘New iPhone 4S’ got it! Developers started working on ports immediately. But,It was really hard to get it working without violating any Apple Inc. Copyright.

Soon enough,A group of guys namely @MrAjsTech @leftyfl1p and @ericlewis came up with this wonderful idea of getting Siri to work using Google servers and ‘NO 4S KEYS’.This made the fact to violating Apple servers totally redundant.

And Just day before yesterday,i4siri was officially released.

Here’s a Tutorial on how you can easily install it in just minutes –

Note: You will obviously need to jailbreak your device to install this tweak (Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 with Redsn0w or Absinthe depending on what device you have. This currently does not work with iOS 5.1 as Spire isn’t compatible yet)

Step 1: Open up Cydia and add a source (http://i4siri.com/aspecialplace) and Install ‘i4Siri’ (For iPhone/iPod Touch) or ‘i4Siri iPad Install’ (For iPads). This’ll take time as it downloads an additional 100mb while installing a building caches,So be patient.

Step 2: After installation, open up the device Settings application and head to ‘General >> Siri‘ and make sure the toggle is set to ‘On‘.

Step 3: Go to Settings –>> General —>> And Set ‘Siri’ to ‘On’.

Step 4 : Then,Head back to the root of the Settings menu and select ‘Spire‘.

Step 5: In the Spire settings menu, populate the proxy URL field with‘https://i4sirifree.mooo.com/’.

Step 6: Open up Mobile Safari and head to ‘http://i4siri.com/installcertificate.html

Step 7: Install the certificate. Activate Siri and make a request.

Step 8: Et Voila! Keep the Home button pressed for a few seconds and Siri should pop up.

[MUST HAVE] Siri Dictation has been ported to the iPhone 4and iPod Touch 4

Siri,One of the Best features of the new iPhone 4S.For those who don’t know ; Siri is a personal Assassitant which comes with the new 4S.Ever Since thet feature was tried and tested by Dev(s).It has been No.1 on all of their ‘To-Do’ lists to Port it across older devices. There have been a few Videos/Demonstrations showing Siri on an iPhone 4 or 3Gs and any further information on that is not known. But,Yesterday the People at iF0rce released a tweak via their repo ie. http://apt.if0rce.com which enables Siri Dictation on the iPhone 4,iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 4 (Only if the device is on iOS5 or iOS 5.0.1).

All you need to do to get Siri Dictation on your Supported deivce is Add the Repo mentioned above and Search for ‘Siri0us’ and install it.Then just open up an app and press the Siri button on the keyboard.

Note: The developer has noted a bug that some may run into when trying to install. If your iDevice keeps respringing, do not restore! Use a SSH tool to remove the/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AssistantServices.framework file.

Now We can FINALLY get half of the Siri experience thanks to a jailbreak tweak by a developer called Eric Day.Also,Siri dictation for your iOS 5 devices. No iPhone 4S keys/files required.

[Tutorial] How To Install Siri (GUI Only) On iPhone 4 And iPod touch Running iOS 5

Siri has finally been ported over to other iOS Devices and, unlike last time, there is a way you can install it right now,Though we DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.We suggest that you wait until @chpwn releases it.

How To Install Siri GUI On iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G

Step 1: You should already be Jailbroken on iOS5.If you’re a beginner just leave a comment in the comment section.

Step 2: Download files required for the Siri port to iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G. You will have to find these files yourself as we wont be able to share these files with you.

Step 3: Using a file explorer for your iOS device, copy over the AssistantServices.frameworkfolder you downloaded in Step 2 to Root > System > Library > PrivateFrameworks after plugging in your device to your computer via USB.

Step 4: Transfer all files from the Springboard folder in Step 2 to Root > System > Library > CoreServices > Springboard.app on your iOS device.

Step 5: Using iFile (you can get it from Cydia), open the .plist file for your iOS device fromSystem > Library > CoreServices > Springboard.app. It will be named N81AP for iPod touch 4G and N9x for iPhone 4 (where x may be 0, 1, 2).

Step 6: Add a new property list named assistant to the .plist file and set its class as Booleanwhile setting its value as YES.

Step 7: Add the following to the .plist file:

assistant

Step 8: Respring your iOS device.

If you followed the steps correctly, Siri’s GUI will be installed on your iOS device. You can hold the Home button to activate it. Once again, we remind you that voice commands don’t work yet since Apple’s servers don’t accept voice command input from iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G.

ENJOY !
